In the morning, light winds made the sailing slow during the 2 races however the wind filled in after lunch and a great afternoon of racing followed.<\/p>\n<p>First Overall, sailing \u2018Bumblebee\u2019, went to Able 2 Sail members Darren MacGregor, aged 18 from Glasgow and Jamie Kearns, aged 17 from Clydebank they also received the \u2018Windward Mark Trophy\u2019 for their fantastic efforts on the day. They also scored 15 points, however, because they won two of the five races they were the overall winners.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.s4e.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/11949275_956509814408023_2416712840362609763_n.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-356 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.s4e.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/11949275_956509814408023_2416712840362609763_n-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"11949275_956509814408023_2416712840362609763_n\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.s4e.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/11949275_956509814408023_2416712840362609763_n-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.s4e.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/11949275_956509814408023_2416712840362609763_n-400x300.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.s4e.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/11949275_956509814408023_2416712840362609763_n.jpg 822w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Disability Resource Centre, Paisley Sports Committee Members Vicky McMillan and Craig Holland came second with 15 points, they were sailing \u2018Tranquility\u2019. The most travelled competitors took third place with 17 points in \u2018Dinah Did\u2019 \u2013 they were Steve Laycok and Jessica Campbell from South West Scotland Sailability based at Galloway Activity Centre, Loch Ken.<\/p>\n<p>The prize for the \u2018Most Improved Crew\u2019, sailing \u2018Wee Ginger\u2019, went to 16 year old Heather Wallace and 15 year old Jordan Gorman, pupils at Park Special School in Kilmarnock. Competitors came from Kirkcudbright, Kilmarnock, Paisley, Glasgow and Clydebank, representing Additional Support Needs Schools, Accessible Sport and Sailing Clubs and Charities<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.s4e.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Race-2-the-Games-2014.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-347 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.s4e.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Race-2-the-Games-2014.jpg\" alt=\"Race 2 the Games 2014\" width=\"960\" height=\"342\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.s4e.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Race-2-the-Games-2014.jpg 960w, https:\/\/www.s4e.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Race-2-the-Games-2014-300x107.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.s4e.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Race-2-the-Games-2014-740x264.jpg 740w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/a>The Regatta is a legacy event, born out of the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games.\u00a0 In the lead up to the Games, a \u2018Race 2 the Games\u2019 regatta was held which saw 17 Hansa 303\u2019s race 33km up the River Clyde. .<\/p>\n<p>The Drinks Reception, hosted by Depute Provost Caldwell of Renfrewshire Council and then Prize Giving, supported by Gael Force Marine Glasgow, was eagerly awaited given how close the racing had been.<\/p>\n<p>Depute Provost Caldwell said \u201cThis Regatta, the only Multi-Class in Scotland provides a goal for all participants to aim for in their training programmes. It has certainly been fantastic watching the racing. \u201c<\/p>\n<p>Following on from this event, Hansa 303\u2019s will be part of the boat show at Kip Marina and will offer sailing for juniors during the three days of the show.<\/p>\n<p>A Spring Regatta is planned for 8th May for Hansa 2.3 &amp; 303\u2019s as well as the International 2.4 and organiser David Hill is hoping to get about 25 boats to that and the date for the 2016 Scottish Multiclass is already scheduled for 10th Sept 2016.
