Ramp down to the pontoons and the S4E sailing area can be seen on right. The pontoons are floating concrete boxes that rise and drop with the tide,kept in position by the four black pylons upon which they slide.

The pontoons are wide and stay horizontal and very safe.

You can see the old warf sheds lining the dock sides. The sailing area has warf edges on three sides creating a safe enclosed area for training. Outside the dock area is a turning basin linking other dock areas and the Yarra river that enters Port Phillip Bay a few kilometers away.
